Book Updates on Crusade and Possesions, and a Wicked Answer

I spent the day celebrating and preparing for Halloween, which roughly translates to getting lost in a corn maze, buying lots of Halloween goodies, and having a fantastic time with the best daughter in the world.  We’re about to start decorating around the house, but before I get into the full swing of fall festivities, I thought I should answer a few more questions that recently landed in the mailbag.

Hi! When is the third Possessions book coming out? I can’t wait!

Thank you so much for asking!  It’s coming out on March 22!  It’s called THE SCREAMING SEASON.  I’m also including the cover below for you to see.
–You made my day!

…and a question about Wicked came into the mailbox. This one I like a lot.

I am doing a book report about Wicked: Witch and Curse, and I was just wondering how did the idea of this series come up? I know you probably get asked this all the time. Also, do you belivie in the topic you write about because I’m a wicca or a witch, as some people put it, and it seems like you did some real research. The curse about drowneding is real and all the powers you say Holly has are actually powers. I was just wondering, so thanks.

Blessed Be.  Thanks for writing me.  Yes, we did a lot of research on Wiccan traditions as well as traditionally “stereotype” Craft for the Wicked series.  I’m so impressed that you picked that up.

How Wicked came about:  my editor had asked me to come up with an idea for a series about witches.  I was traveling in France, staying at a 14th century farmhouse, and as I drove through the countryside, I would come up these enormous castles.  I also saw a sweet statue of Joan of Arc in a small church.  Things started tumbling together and I “saw” the two proud French houses of witches, the Deveraux and the Cahors.  (Cahors, by the way, was the closest French town to the farmhouse.)  Things just started falling into place!

… and to round out the questions for the day, is a question about Crusade.

Could you tell me when the next part of Crusade will be released, and the title of it. Thanks. O, and by the way, I loved this book. Also, a big fan of Buffy.

We have just had wonderful news!  The next part of Crusade will be released in September 2011.  🙂 However, we can’t release the title yet, but I’ll post the information on my website as soon as I can tell you.

Thank you for asking and for telling me that you loved the book.  By the way, the paperback edition of Crusade will come out in July.

I’m also a big fan of Buffy and Joss Whedon.

So, that’s it for today’s questions. If you have anything you want to know, be sure to drop me a line. You can reach me at MailForNancyHolder@gmail.com
