Wildlife Wednesday, October 4

Quoted from a wonderful book, The Salish Sea: Jewel of the Pacific Northwest:

“The more we know of other forms of life, the more we enjoy and respect ourselves…. Humanity is exalted not because we are so far above other living creatures but because knowing them well elevates the very concept of life.”

                                                                                    –E.O. Wilson

The Salish Sea is a beautifully written overview of the Salish Sea region, lushly illustrated with incredible photographs. It was the first book published by the SeaDoc Society. The fiber arts group Tangled Fibers used this book as part of their inspiration for their 2020 show, “Undersea Garden, A Voyage of Wonder and Imagination.”
