Winter 2012 YA Scavenger Hunt

Welcome to YA Scavenger Hunt! This tri-annual event is the brainchild of fantastic young adult author Colleen Houck. I am on the red team. The Scavenger Hunt gives you access to exclusive content from each author as well as our “favorite” numbers. (You’ll find mine below.) Add up our numbers, and you can enter to win the RED TEAM‘s grand prize–one lucky winner will receive one signed book from each author on the hunt in my team! But play fast: this contest (and all the exclusive bonus material) will only be online for 72 hours!

SCAVENGER HUNT PUZZLE ENTRY

Directions: Below, you’ll notice that I’ve hidden my favorite number in the text below and highlighted it in RED. Collect the favorite numbers of all the authors on the RED TEAM, and then add them up (don’t worry, you can use a calculator!).

Entry Form: Once you’ve added up all the numbers, make sure you fill out the entry form (click here) to officially qualify for the grand prize. Only entries that have the correct number will qualify. Winner will be chosen by a random drawing from all correct entries received.

Rules: Open internationally, anyone below the age of 18 should have a parent or guardian’s permission to enter. To be eligible for the grand prize, you must submit the completed entry form by August 5, at noon Pacific Time. Entries sent without the correct number or without contact information will not be considered.

Hello YA Scavenger Hunters!

I’m Nancy Holder, the New York Times bestselling author of the Wicked Saga, cowritten with Debbie Viguie. Debbie and I have written *3* young adult dark fantasy series together. I also write novels and episode guidebooks based on different TV shows and “universes,” including Teen Wolf, Angel, Hellboy, Hulk, Smallivlle, and my new book, Buffy: the Making of a Slayer. I also write and edit comic books and graphic novels, and I teach at the University of Southern Maine (even though I live in San Diego.) I also write urban fantasy for the GothicScapes imprint. My new young adult novel, Hot Blooded, will come out in December.
