I had the best time at the OCCBF! It was great to catch up with co-founder Robyn Hawk, listen to Katie Alender read, yak with Heather Brewer, and see all my Mysterious Galaxy friends, including owners (and my former bosses!) Maryelizabeth Hart and Jeff Mariotte. Jeff has a new book out, too–Dark Vengeance!
I had a “d’oh!” moment when Heather told me that she lives in St. Louis, Mo. Debbie Viguié and I were just in St. Louis on author tour. Heather knew our hotel (the Moonrise) and we promised each other that next time we’re there, we are there!
Here’s a picture taken in the Mysterious Galaxy booth. From left to right: Jessica Dobson, me, Amber Benson, and Non Talbot Wels. Jess and Non volunteered at the festival. They also work at A Whale of a Tale bookstore and Non owns a professional editing and proofreading company called Subject + Verb Writing Company. Jessica serves as the company finance and marketing person. They were so friendly and smart! Amber reminded me that we first met nearly 15 years ago. We went out to dinner back then, and her mother watched my daughter, who was in a baby carrier. Now my baby is almost 15. Good times, good times!
